For the active, Bugøynes offers several hiking trails. Perhaps you just want to take a short trip in the local area, with village wading where you can, among other things, take a trip to the cemetery where the rare polemonium boreale grows. This plant is only found here on the Norwegian mainland, in addition to Svalbard and in other arctic regions. The plant is protected, and it is not allowed to pick it. On the outside of the cemetery you can read more about the plant.
If you want a bit more of a challenge, the "Bugøynestoppen" might be something for you. The top is Sør-Varanger's highest peak (14 km and 507 meters in height), here you have to set aside a day, as the trip takes a few hours. There are also hiking trails to both Ranvika, Sankarhaugen and a marked cultural trail. We can be helpful with more information about the trips, as well as providing our own guide if desired.
How about a short trip in the outdoor activity park? There you can train on various outdoor equipment while enjoying the view over the village and the Varanger Fjord. The training session can end with a hot sauna and a delicious refreshing bath in Vestersand, perhaps Finnmark's finest beach which (apart from the temperature) could have been mistaken for any Caribbean beach
